Position Overview
Wajax Industries is currently Hiring Material Handling Technicians for our busy shop/Field Service positions. This position is responsible for performing maintenance, repair and rebuilding of material handling equipment. All work duties will be performed in a safe, efficient and capable manner.
Duties
The Material Handling Technician must inspect, diagnose and repair/replace all components of materials handling equipment serviced at various customer locations. This requires strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty environments. The Material Handling Technician must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other technicians and apprentices within the field environment.
Qualifications
Journeyman Heavy Equipment or Automotive Certification, and/or Powered Lift Truck Technician Certification is required. Candidates with experience working on construction equipment and certified for industrial propane powered vehicles are considered an asset to the role. Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently troubleshoot and repair issues in electronic, mechanical, electro/hydraulic systems common to material handling products. Experience with manufacturer specific equipment diagnostic systems i.e. laptop or onboard is essential. A strong background in AC/DC drive systems as well as electrically powered material handling equipment is also essential to the position.
